How about going for a trek to the Himalayas during your next holidays to bring some thrill into your life?

Trekking is one of the most adventurous, enthralling journey on foot, which must be undertaken by fun loving people and nature lovers. Trekking means to hike through various landscapes, especially mountainous areas where there is no transport available. Trekking is an activity that each one of us should try once in our lifetime. It will definitely be a remarkable experience in your life. Here are some of the exotic trails showing you the most beautiful views that will surely shoot your heartbeats up!!!

1. Hampta Pass Trek, Himachal Pradesh

Are you planning for your first visit to the hilly regions? Then this is the ideal destination for you as it is the easiest high altitude trek on the Himalayas.

What you can see:  Generally, the trek goes on for four to five days. From day one to five, you can see various beautiful landscapes ranging from green forests to white snowy mountains to muddy brown barren lands. The beautiful glacial moon lake Chandratal which you can see on day five at the end of the trek will be once in a lifetime view.

Transport:  The starting point of the trek is the Perini village which is just a few kilometers drive from Manali Station.

This adventurous trek will be for 35 kms approximately and the surroundings surely will make you feel blissful. The best time to go along this trail is between June and October which will definitely be one of the most memorable experiences of your life.

2. Roopkund Trek, Uttarakhand

Want to go for the most adventurous and entertaining trek? Roopkund trek is famous for its varying views and intriguing history.

What you can see: This trek will capture your imagination and portray wonderful environments in just about an eight-day period like calm lakes, green meadows, chilly snowy capes, thick forests and ancient villages. The main attraction of this trek is the Roopkund Lake which is also known as the ‘Skeletal Lake’. Situated in the Garhwal Himalayas, it is frozen throughout the year due to the height at which it is situated. On day six, you can see hundreds of skeletons lying everywhere as you get closer to the lake.

Transport: The trek begins from Lohajung which can be reached easily through roadway from the Kathgodam Station. There are many trains available from Delhi and other cities to Kathgodam Station.

This classic trail is around 60 kms and the best time to go for this is from August to October after the monsoon season gets over.

3. Sandakphu Trek, West Bengal

Ever dreamed that you could have amazing views of four of the tallest mountains in the world at one place!!! Sandakphu will definitely make your dream come true offering you a delightful view of the great Himalayas.

What you can see: This trek should be absolutely undertaken by all passionate adventure lovers for the stunning and beautiful views of the Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu and Lhotse peaks which will make you feel awestruck. The Famous Sleeping Buddha view of the Mt. Kanchenjunga will fill you with peace and calmness. The Singalila range and Singalila national park are other attractions in this route.  Sandakphu is the highest point of West Bengal and on your way to this place you will go through forests of silver firs and rhododendrons.

Transport: Take a train to New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal and from there drive for 5-6 hours to Manebhanjan. The route starts from there.

The trek will be for a duration of five days and the appropriate time to go to this trek is from March to May and September to November.

4. Markha Valley Trek, Ladakh

The Markha Valley Trek is a unique and diverse trek in the frozen Himalayas due to the cold, arid desert regions and the Tibetan culture followed by the people.

What you can see: You will see enchanting views of Ladakh & Zanskaar Ranges and beautiful Hemis National Park. This will make you experience the lifestyle of nomadic villagers, valley crossing, willow trees and steep canyons. The Leh Palace is a famous tourist spot and there are various monasteries that can be seen at Leh.Transport: Most of the cities in India are connected to Leh by air. From Leh, take a jeep to Spituk to have one of the most remarkable experiences of your life.

The best time to undertake this activity is between June to September. It will take eight days approx.

5. Goech La Trek, Sikkim

Wish to have a different experience of trekking? Go for the Goech La Trek as it is going to be the most beautiful and romantic trek of the Himalayan region

What you can see: This trail is filled with colourful flowery landscapes, rhododendron trees, bright alpine meadows and so on. You will get astounding views of Mt. Kanchenjunga during this climb. The main attractions of this route are the beautiful Rhododendron Forests and the serene Samiti Lake.

Transport: Arrive at New Jalpaiguri station in West Bengal. Travel to Yuksom by road from the station and you will have the opportunity to enjoy the magical beauty of the mountains.

The best time to follow this beautiful trail which will take 10 days is between April to June and September to November.
